Abstract

Figures 230 and 231 show the geometry of a square pyramid. To develop the length of one of its corners:

  1. 1.

    Draw the plan and elevation (figure 230).

  2. 2.

    With centre o, in plan, and radius o – a describe an arc to give a″ on the horizontal line brought out from o.

  3. 3.

    Project a vertical line upwards from a” to give a’ on the X − Y line.

  4. 4.

    Join a′ to o in the elevation. a′ – o is the length of the corners of the pyramid.
