Abstract
Infrared spectroscopy is a method of analysis, whose roots, in commercial instrumentation, go well back into the first half of this century. The percentage of papers cited in chemical abstracts which indicate use of infrared spectroscopy seems to be holding steady at a respectable 1 per cent (McDonald, 1980). Thus, it remains a vigorous field of activity.
