Abstract

In this chapter we consider issues relating to the actual physical medium used to distribute portable programs. Possibilities for this are described and problems of incompatibilities in data format between different systems considered. The discussion applies equally to the distribution of portable programs and to the distribution of data for use by programs running on different machines.
