Isometric, Axonometric and Perspective Projection

  • Chapter
Graphic Communication for Technical Design

Abstract

Isometric projection is used to portray a solid by means of a single diagram. In chapter 3, isometric ‘drawing’ of simple objects is treated without attempting to introduce the isometric scale. When consideration is given to the foreshortening effect on the dimensions of an object which is portrayed isometrically this is termed isometric ‘projection’. In this chapter some more advanced exercises will be demonstrated, all of which make use of the isometric scale.
