Abstract

From D. J. O’Donoghue, ‘George Bernard Shaw: some Recollections’, Irish Independent, 17 February 1908. David J. O’Donoghue (1866–1917), journalist, biographer and editor, was the author of numerous works on nineteenth-century Irish subjects. His collection The Humour of Ireland (1894) contained extracts from Shaw’s music criticism written under the name of ‘Corno di Bassetto’.
