The Casement Affair: II

  • Charlotte Shaw
Part of the Interviews and Recollections Series book series (IR)

From a letter by Charlotte Shaw to T. E. Lawrence, 15–16 September 1927, in Janet Dunbar, Mrs GBS: A Biographical Portrait (London: Harrap, 1963) p. 285. Sydney Cockerell had introduced ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ to the Shaws: the rapport between them was immediate and Lawrence became a particularly intimate friend of Charlotte’s. He had written to her about Casement and she determined to set down all she knew.
