Abstract
The purpose of this chapter is to place Soviet imports of Western capital goods and know-how in perspective so far as their size is concerned. The first section relates total Soviet import flows of Western technology to Soviet investment. In the second section the relative size of such flows for certain branches of the Soviet economy is assessed.
