Abstract

The naturally magnetic elements, iron, cobalt and nickel, are part of a group known as ‘transition elements’ in the periodic table. This table is an arrangement of all the elements in order of increasing atomic mass, beginning with hydrogen. Each element is assigned an atomic number according to its place in the periodic table.
