Non-Invasive Investigation of Intracranial CNS Malignancy

  • Chapter
CNS Complications of Malignant Disease

Abstract

The past decade has seen the substitution of conventional radiological methods with non-invasive, so-called bloodless techniques as the primary method of intracranial morphological diagnosis (table 27.1). More and more, cerebral angiography and pneumography are being viewed as aids to surgery in centres equipped for computed and scintigraphic scanning. Their availability is probably best limited to the neurosurgeon immediately responsible for managing the patient.
