Successful systems development does not happen by itself. Paying lip service to the correct procedures and standards will not produce good systems. The approach set out in the preceding chapters has to be made to work. This can only be done by good management and control. I believe this can best be done by operating project teams. The method of using project teams for problem solving and developing new ideas is gaining acceptance in many areas of activity. It is particularly relevant in the field of systems development and problem solving.
