Haymarket Memories

  • Chapter
Oscar Wilde

Abstract

After my brief stay at the Adelphi, I did not appear before the public again until early in the following year (1895), after Dennis was born. I then returned to the Haymarket Theatre to support Lewis Waller1 in his first venture in management. The play was Wilde’s An Ideal Husband, with Lewis Waller, Florence West (his wife), Charles Hawtrey and myself playing the leads.2
