Abstract
Having come thus far, it seems natural to push the inquiry a little further and to ask what was the attitude of the Classical Economists to other proposals for change in the future organization of society. What was their attitude, if any, to the fundamental socialist ideas of public ownership and operation of the means of production and a distribution of income not influenced by the operations of the market?
