Inbred Strains of Mice

  • Chapter
  • 55 Accesses

Abstract

Inbred mice have been used more extensively than those of any other species of laboratory mammal. A total of about 230 strains are listed here, but some of the more widely used strains have become divided into sublines among which there are detectable genetic differences. Some strains are recorded in the literature but are now extinct. Such strains have been excluded from this list.
