Abstract
We have seen the difficulties which the theory of Karma and rebirth presents. The notion that at death a person passes to everlasting damnation in Hell or eternal happiness in Heaven, considered to be the orthodox Christian view, presents even greater difficulties. This is referred to as the ‘Double Predestination’ theory and is popularly known as the theory of ‘One life on earth followed by Heaven or Hell for Eternity.’ Many have found this theory theologically unsound and far less comforting than the theory of Karma and rebirth.
