Abstract
It is a pleasure to welcome you to this University and a privilege for me to open this Conference on Keynes, Cambridge, and The General Theory. We are especially pleased to have as our co-sponsors of this Conference the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Both universities accept the fact that for some purposes at least money does matter and we wish to acknowledge the financial assistance of the Canada Council which has made this Conference possible. I would also like to acknowledge at this point the hard work done by Professor Leith and others in the Department here in planning the Conference and in making the necessary arrangements.
