Summary

Interim results on some clinical applications of haemoadsorption are presented. The technique is considered a simple, safe and effective method of treating severe poisoning due to glutethimide and short acting barbiturates. There are also encouraging indications for the use of haemoperfusion on a repeated basis (alternated with haemodialysis) in the control of the uraemic state.
