Abstract

Signal flow graphs consist of a network in which nodes representing each of the system variables are connected by directed branches, see fig. 3.1. A branch acts as a one-way signal multiplier, the ratio of output to input being defined as the transmittance, with the arrowhead being used to indicate the flow of information as in a block diagram.
