Abstract

In chapter 4 we gave a list of standard functions available in BASIC: COS, SIN, EXP, etc. In this chapter we shall describe how to define other functions. The reason for wishing to be able to do so will become clear as the chapter progresses. To introduce the idea we shall solve a civil engineering problem.
