Abstract

Since this book is intended primarily for the layman who encounters radioactive materials in the course of his work, it would not be complete without a brief review of some of the principal ways in which radioactive materials are used in industry. The use of sealed sources in radiography, in thickness and level gauges and in density and moisture content measurement will be considered in turn. Some applications of open sources will also be mentioned.
