Abstract

This book presents six research studies containing basic information about the ways in which the governments of the Federal Republic of Germany and of the United Kingdom have assisted or protected their industries — principally their manufacturing industries. In addition a concluding chapter discusses the logic of government intervention in industry and analyses various policies.
