Planning Development of Population and Manpower Resources in Bulgaria

  • Chapter
Methods of Long-term Planning and Forecasting

Abstract

The reproduction of population and the actively occupied sector of it together with the use of the nation’s labour resources have an important place in Bulgaria’s social and economic development plan. Population and labour resources represent on the one hand a vital factor in economic growth and on the other they represent the ultimate purpose of all production. With state ownership over the means of production the full satisfaction of the nation’s material and cultural needs and the psycho-physiological and intellectual development of the individual form the content and purpose of the plan-directed economic and social activity of the nation.
