Abstract

A concern of many investigators in biomechanics has been obtaining accurate information on the kinetics of rapid human motion. The history of forces and moments at the joints of accelerating limb segments undoubtedly will tell us something about the muscular forces involved and also about the neural control. Technically, however, it has proven very difficult to quantify both the magnitude and time course of limb segment accelerations with reasonable confidence.
