Before considering more detailed forecasting models for the movement aspects of leisure and recreational activities, it will be helpful to look at some broader determinants of activity patterns. In order that we may both understand the underlying structure of demand and interpret these results in a more relevant light, it is useful to develop some simple models of consumer preference with regard to the activities themselves.
