Abstract
Wheelchair-bound persons are often obliged to sit continuously for many hours at a time in the same position. High temperature and humidity in the sitting area have a bearing on the initiation of pressure sores and resultant infections. It is therefore of special importance that the best possible sitting comfort is achieved for this group of the disabled—yet very few studies have been carried out concerning the influence of these factors.
