Abstract

I am personally very grateful for the predominant tone of serious scholarship that has marked this Conference. I should like to emphasise particularly the dispassionateness and the objectivity of the scholarship with which our speakers dealt with often very thorny and potentially very explosive topics. Let this also be an example to us of the spirit in which the work of this Conference ought to be continued.

The text of Professor Viljoen’s concluding remarks at the closing session of the Conference.
