Abstract

This paper deals exclusively with the operations of the Commonwealth Development Corporation, a U.K. statutory body. As the following paragraphs will show, the Corporation is not an aid-provider in the commonly accepted sense, and it operates rather differently from the development organisations of most aid-giving countries. It is thought, however, that a brief description of its methods and interests may be of value in the discussion of this topic.
