Summary
This paper outlines the development of computer processing for production of numerical control tapes over the past decade at AWRE, Aldermaston. It describes how certain philosophies about computer processing have resulted, and how these have effected the organization of the AWRE NC computer processing system. Examples of aids to machine tool part-programming that have been developed are described, and ideas for the future of NC computer processing are put forward.
