Farm and Trade Policies of the Industrial Countries

Part of the World Economic Issues book series (WEI)

It is neither possible nor necessary to give a detailed review of the farm and trade policies of each of the major industrial countries. Excellent summaries, with major emphasis upon farm policies, already exist and the most complete one is almost twice as long as this book.1 While there are differences in detail, a fairly limited number of patterns can be delineated. In any case, the detailed features of the farm policies are not of primary interest to us; our concern is with the effects of the farm policies upon prices, production and trade.
