Abstract

In this chapter an attempt is made to provide information which will assist the logic system designer when translating his design from paper into hardware. At the present time, integrated circuit manufacturers present the designer with a bewilderingly wide array of types of circuit. In addition to designing a system on paper therefore, the engineer may well have to decide which particular range of integrated circuits or ‘logic family’ is most suitable for the system. This chapter discusses the important features of currently available logic families.
