Much Ado about Nothing and All’s Well that Ends Well

These two plays are often considered the least satisfactory of Shakespeare’s mature comedies, and I must say I share the prevailing dissatisfaction. My reasons for this are not altogether the same in each case, but they are not altogether not the same either. Let me explain.
