In chapter 2 stress was laid on the value of using the sense of sight in instruction. Visual aids are essentially aids to understanding and learning and are not to be confused with aids to vision ! Effective training is dependent upon good communication between teacher and taught, and this means that the teacher must be able to evoke, in the minds of his students, his own mental images and thought processes that he himself has established on the topic.
