Abstract

The Engineering Employers’ Federation is much the largest and most important organisation of its kind in Britain. At the end of 1971 it was made of up 22 local associations with nearly 5000 member firms in Britain and Northern Ireland employing more than two million workers in an industry which produces 40 per cent of the nation’s manufactured products and 40 per cent of the nation’s exports. The annual wage and salary bills of its members amount to £2500 m.
