The Second World War: Wennington
THIS BOOK does not pretend to name every radical school in England. No mention has been made of the Hall School founded at Weybridge by Miss Gilpin and now at Wincanton, or Dauntsey ’s, which G. W. Olive transformed, or St. Mary’s Town and Country School founded in Hampstead in 1937 with a second location in the country, or Monkton Wyld founded in 1940 in Charmouth in Dorset, or the remarkable communities for young delinquents described by David Wills in The Barns Experiment and The Hawkspur Experiment, or Finchden Manor founded by George Lyward, or Red Hill School founded by Otto Shaw, or many others.
