Description as the Method of Philosophy: A Reply to Mr Pettit

Whether, in a symposium on philosophical methodology, it is a good idea to concentrate on Husserl, I do not know. The upshot of Mr Pettit’s paper is that it is not. He has done so, nevertheless, and I must follow suit.
