Abstract
Abrasives projected at high velocities are capable of producing surface impressions of immense value to many industrial processes. The effects so produced are classified according to the application as blast-cleaning, descaling, shot peening, deburring and decorative-blasting. As methods of surface preparation, the various systems of blasting have much to commend them, being capable of producing ideal foundations for many subsequent applications and processes. The dry processes of blasting must hold considerable interest to those industries that are plagued with the problem of liquid effluent disposal.
