Aspects of System Reliability

  • Chapter
Component Reliability

Part of the book series: Macmillan Engineering Evaluations ((MECS))

Abstract

Quantitative methods of reliability techniques used for the design and analysis of assemblies are based on probability calculus. In this section only the most basic aspects of probability are reviewed. Standard text books on probability theory, statistics and reliability should be consulted by the reader who may wish to extend his appreciation of the potentialities of these branches of theory to engineering problems.
