Abstract
The quantity surveying profession has largely developed over the last century, but has now grown to such an extent that it forms one of the largest single sections in the membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Furthermore, a separate body, entitled the Institute of Quantity Surveyors, is also very active in this field.
