Abstract

This group of coatings includes metallic finishes and coatings consisting of metal compounds, used to preserve the metallic appearance of the surface. Coatings composed of metal compounds such as oxide, phosphate or chromate are sometimes used as protective coats and sometimes as undercoats for paint systems.
