Abstract
The knowledge held by members of the industrial subculture about their work is not disinterested knowledge. It is permeated by value elements, even though in practice the value element at certain points may be regarded as negligible. Consequently, an understanding of the moral code of a subculture is of central significance to any examination of the knowledge which makes up that subculture.
