Abstract

May I begin by thanking you for the compliment you have paid me in asking me to address you on this important occasion. The Royal College holds a unique position in the system of art education in this country; and, to anyone who has at heart the cause of the fine and applied arts, an invitation to be thus associated with its annual ceremony must be at once a pleasure and an honour.

An address at the Royal College of Art, July 10th, 1964
