Melting Point Tables

  • Chapter
Qualitative Organic Analysis

Abstract

In the following tables melting points and boiling points are given to the nearest degree Centigrade. Where the literature gives different values for the same compound selected alternative values are placed in parentheses. It should be noted that widely different figures have been reported for the melting points of some derivatives, e.g. a number of 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazones, semicarbazones and aroylbenzoic acids. In some cases the discrepancies are probably due to geometrical isomerism.
