The Birmingham Speech (May 1903)
Chamberlain’s speech was delivered on Friday, 15 May 1903, in the Town Hall at Birmingham. The audience was restricted to his own constituents of West Birmingham. The Chairman of his Association presided. Austen and a number of other relatives were present. It was Chamberlain’s first public appearance in Birmingham since his return from South Africa.
