Abstract

This subject has assumed tremendous importance in recent years and a vast number of technical papers and publications have been issued. The ever-increasing number of vehicles, the fast rising intensity of urban traffic congestion and the colossal number of road accidents call for radical and costly long-term measures to cope effectively with the vast problems created by the motor vehicle.
