Deterioration of Materials in a Processing Plant

  • Chapter
Exercises in Industrial Management

Abstract

A study is undertaken in one part of a chemical plant where material in liquid form undergoes three processing stages, called A, B, and C. The material flows at a constant rate from stage A to a storage tank, then it is pumped at a rate of R1 units per unit time into a vat where processing at stage B takes place, and then it is pumped out from the vat to feed process C.
