Abstract
In this chapter we shall take our units of discourse to be sets without considering the elements, as such, of which they are composed. The members of the sets will affect our discussion only when they enable us to establish relations, e.g. inclusion; or functions on a pair of sets—such as union. These and other terms will now be rigorously defined.
