Graphical Methods

  • Chapter
Analysis of Surge

Abstract

Before the introduction of electronic digital computers, the accurate use of finite difference methods was very time-consuming and tedious. Consequently a number of ‘time-saving’ graphical methods were developed. In practice these methods all take quite a long time to carry out, and they cannot compare in accuracy with numerical methods performed by computers.
