Finite Difference Methods II

  • Chapter
Analysis of Surge

Abstract

In Chapter 11 we saw how various finite difference methods may be applied to the mass oscillations which follow sudden complete valve closure in a straightforward cylindrical tank with or without a throttle. The same methods—Pressel, Simple Arithmetic, Jakobsen and Escande—can be used for more complex cases.
