Abstract

In the whole firmament of intellectual values there is scarcely a more delightful, baffling, and profound pursuit than the exploration of religion. The study of religion, though it may still be in a trifle confused state, promises great advances. The basis of this hope lies in the conjunction of events which has brought us to the present fruitful intellectual and religious condition. Let me sketch these events briefly.
