Abstract

This chapter deals with a number of applications of the transhipment method described below. The problem of upper bounds on the variables and flow through a network are both mentioned in Chapter 6 and their methods of solution for small examples are discussed here. The other problems described involve the distribution of a product to customers via a set of depots: a production and distribution problem concerning a group of related products and their distribution, using a choice of methods.
