Abstract
Can positive psychology develop a leisure wing? This is possible. Incorporating leisure in its analytic framework can only strengthen its role as the standard bearer for the vibrant, new positive approach in psychology. Nonetheless, not all of positive psychology can be related to leisure or exclusively to leisure. Several examples of positive emotions and interactive situations outside the realm of leisure are presented. As for the application of leisure in positive psychology, note that people can find positive meaning and purpose at work. As another example note that the serious leisure perspective sets out the different types of contemplation and spirituality, indicating where they are motivated by serious, casual, and project-based interests.
